Are you interested in becoming an expert in cloud engineer using Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps? Our part-time, 14-week Cloud DevOps Bootcamp is designed to help you achieve your goals and take your career to the next level.

Throughout the bootcamp, you will work on real-world projects and hands-on lab exercises, simulating scenarios encountered by cloud engineers in the industry. This practical experience will enable you to apply your skills in a professional context and showcase your capabilities to potential employers.

By completing the bootcamp, you will:

The bootcamp requires a commitment of 15 hours per week, including 6 hours of live classes and 9 hours of homework/labs each week. The live classes take place on two weekdays each week(Wednesday and Sunday), with each class lasting up to three hours.

Week 1

  • Welcome to the course and introduction to the bootcamp
  • Classroom tools used and access instructions
  • Cloud computing fundamentals: concepts and benefits
  • Introduction to Azure Administration tools: Azure portal, Azure PowerShell, Azure CLI, Azure Cloud Shell

Week 2 - 3 

  • Azure Architecture: Regions and Availability Zones
  • Azure Governance : Management Groups, Subscriptions, Resource Groups, Azure Policy etc.
  • Introduction to Microsoft Azure compute
  • Configuring virtual machines, VM availability: vertical and horizontal scaling etc.
  • Azure Compute and Azure App Service Labs, Quizzes and Assignments
  • Azure storage: configuring storage accounts, replication and endpoints for storage accounts
  • Configuring Azure Blob Storage: tiers and object replication
  • Configuring virtual networks and subnets, including IP addressing,  network security groups (NSGs)
  • Configuring Azure Firewall, VPN Gateways for connecting company sites to Azure
  • Creating VPN gateways and connecting company sites to Azure
  • Azure Storage and Networking Labs, Quizzes and Assignments

Week 4 - 5

  • Managing virtual machines with Azure CLI
  • Introduction to Azure Monitor and how to monitor resources on Azure and on-premise
  • Implementing Azure policies and enforcing guardrails and governance
  • Onboarding virtual machines to Azure Monitor VM Insights and building log queries using KQL
  • Azure monitor, Azure policies and Azure CLI Labs, Quizzes and Assignments

Week 6 - 7

  • Terraform Fundamentals and Setup
  • Introduction to Git and setup
  • Working with Pull Requests in Visual Studio Code and GitHub
  • Agile Planning and Portfolio Management with Azure Boards
  • Version Controlling with Git in Visual Studio Code and Azure DevOps
  • Team Project, Labs Quizzes and Assignments

Week 8 - 9

  • Creating a CI/CD pipeline for deploying a web application to Azure App Service
  • Building a more complete pipeline for multiple development and testing stages
  • Running functional and non-functional tests for application behavior and performance
  • Extending pipelines for different deployment targets, such as Azure Functions
  • Automating Docker and multi-container Kubernetes deployments with Azure Pipelines
  • Labs :Terraform to set up an Apache web server and deploy mission critical workloads on Azure

Week 10 - 11

  • Configuring CI/CD Pipelines as Code with YAML in Azure DevOps
  • Introduction to YAML syntax and structure
  • Building CI/CD pipelines using YAML in Azure DevOps
  • Advanced projects involving complex Azure deployments, automation, and integration
  • Networking opportunities with guest speakers and professionals in the field

Week 12 - 13

  • Project : Azure Migration of on-premise workloads to Azure
  • Project : Azure File Server migration to Azure file shares
  • Project : Automating infrastructure mission critical workloads using Terraform and Azure DevOps
  • Networking opportunities with guest speakers and professionals in the field

Week 14

  • Resume grooming and preparing for networking opportunities
  • Discussion on career paths and next steps
  • Networking opportunities with guest speakers and professionals in the field

By the end of the Bootcamp, you will have gained a solid foundation in Azure cloud engineering, with the skills and experience needed to pursue a cloud engineer job. You will be equipped to design, deploy, manage, and optimize cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure, and you will have a portfolio of projects to demonstrate your abilities to prospective employers. You will also receive a certificate of completion that demonstrates your mastery of the tools and techniques covered in the course, completed various Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps labs, as well as completion of two real-life projects.
